Their faith was to center in Him who is the source of mercy and power. In His name they were to present their petitions to the Father, and they would receive answer....

The name of the Lord is merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, ... forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. Of the church of Christ it is written, “This is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our Righteousness.” This name is put upon every follower of Christ. It is the heritage of the child of God.—Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, 106.

The disciples were to carry their work forward in Christ’s name. Their every word and act was to fasten attention on His name, as possessing that vital power by which sinners may be saved. Their faith was to center in Him who is the source of mercy and power. In His name they were to present their petitions to the Father, and they would receive answer. They were to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Christ’s name was to be their watchword, their badge of distinction, their bond of union, the authority for their course of action, and the source of their success.—The Acts of the Apostles, 28.

They shall walk, O Lord, in the light of Thy countenance. In Thy name shall they rejoice.” Psalm 89:15-16. RRe 14

Ministering angels are round about us giving us to drink of the water of life to refresh our souls in the closing scenes of life. There is a pledge from Him who is the resurrection and the life, that those who sleep in Jesus will Christ bring with Him from the grave. The trump will sound, the dead will awaken to life, to die no more. The eternal morning has come to them, for there will be no night in the city of God.—Letter 78, 1890 quoted in Selected Messages 2:250. Hvn 41

In Thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in Thy righteousness shall they be exalted. Psalm 89:16. KJV
